Between March and August this year we were welcomed to dig at sixteen varied locations within the Dilton Marsh area. We managed a total of twenty one test pits.

Those owners who were unable to dig were all very interested and involved in finding out about the whole process of digging test pits. Because such enthusiasm has been shown, we will be intending to carry on with new sites next year and hopefully encourage yet more interest in local history and archaeology.

We also intend to return to some venues and expand on the original test pits , looking for further evidence of early settlement activity.
