Wiltshire Folklore
Speaker Julie Davis outlines the reasons for and origins of folklore, looking at Wiltshire examples which range from community rivalries, moral stories, tales of animals and witches, and the devil’s association with certain places.
She also looks at folklore in the home, its importance to agriculture and gives examples of local seasonal traditions.
The talk is arranged for Friday 26 August at the Dilton Memorial Hall at 7.30pm.
Admission £4.00 non-members, £2.00 members.
